iOS The screen keeps turning black!

I dunno if this is just on mobile but I use an iOS device, whenever I play Stardew valley, randomly when I try to click on a button the screen goes black and shows one of my Items. This cannot be stopped unless I either force reset or make the game close by leaving it. Once I made the mistake of force resetting and had to restart the entire day. I couldnt back up my save because none of the buttons would work. Please fix this.

I also got this error when playing on iPad (iPad OS 18.5), Stardew Valley+ version 1.6.15.
It happened a lot, usually happens when I double click or click and hold anywhere on the screen.

This happens to me too. After force-closing and restarting the game, I used to be given the choice of starting where I left off. I'm no longer being given the option, and am forced to restart the day.

This happens to me too on my ipad and iphone. The screen goes completely black other than the item bar. I used to wait to pass out so that the day would save, but now it won’t even let me do that, the music doesn’t play and everything is frozen. It’s so frustrating it makes me rage quit every time.

One temporary solution to avoid this issue is to not double-tap the screen near the swipe bar. It takes a bit to get used to but once you know what triggers it the issue becomes less common.

I am experiencing the same recurring black-screen bug on iPad. The entire game world disappears, but the energy bar and one toolbar item remain visible. I can still hear the game, and time continues passing in the background, but I cannot properly see or control the game and must force-close it.


I originally thought it occurred only while riding the horse and transitioning from the Beach to Pelican Town, but today it happened twice within approximately five minutes in completely different locations, including while I was on my farm. It therefore appears to happen randomly rather than during one particular map transition.

Do we have any chances of getting this fixed? It’s very frustrating when you don’t get to continue where you left off and lose progress 🥲
