1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

Played junimo kart. This time it was actually all I did. Can't even say that I walked to the saloon, because I loaded a save and was already standing next to the arcades. Got a few attempts at both mushrooms and red hot rollercoaster, but no luck passing either so far.

Because the blue jazz in Kate's flower garden continues to be ornery, I decided I wanted a bit of a break from it. So Farmer Fran started anew on a Wilderness farm, with remixed bundles doable in Y1 (for the first time). Rain has been sparse this spring, sadly, but she did find an ancient seed in a treasure chest fishing on day 4, so that's rather awesome. She planted it thinking that by winter she'll get plenty of fruits so as to get a jump start when the greenhouse is fixed, plus maybe a few for some early moolah.

I started my Meadowlands farm earlier this week. I'm trying to play slowly. My chickens are called Chip and Dip.

I used my starting money to one parsnip, one bean and one cauliflower, and bought potatoes with my remaining cash. The foraging is really good in this particular save, I literally had dozens of leeks in the first two weeks and a ton of daffodils. Spent my time running around the town giving everyone flowers (except George, of course). I think this is the best spring foraging I've had in all of my new saves.

I immediately jumped into the mines as soon as they opened up, because I really need a silo. So I had Clint on my doorstep on Day 6, with his blueprints. Managed to scrape together enough copper ore and clay from the mines to get the silo in week 2. I'm starting on removing all the green grass on the farm, hopefully giving the blue grass room to spread.

I think I'm going for Rancher this playthrough, and then go for Shepherd. I generally go for Tiller, but I like the idea of having a sheep farm.

Spring's almost gone, I'm hoping for a productive summer.

Sorry, I'm not ignoring you, I just, I don't know. It's like a multi-part video and it just started so the later parts aren't out yet. I'm not interested enough to watch right now but it seems like he starts on the Riverlands Farm with 2 Cabins so that he starts with 3 total Fish Smokers. So I guess he fishes alot and probably goes to the Desert Festival I guess. Maybe you could watch it for me and uh, keep us updated :) haha
Well I mean, the invitation actually extends to everybody. Surely SOMEBODY on the forums can "see YouTube" and let us know. I noticed that episode 4 is out, but I'm not one to watch hours of YouTube.
No one knows the entire method he used because it's not out yet but so far: start with 3 fish smokers, get bait maker and max fishing level asap. Catfish mainly, Legend, Bullhead/Lrgmth Bass make up most of the income. unlock all joja bundles, and get to floor 120 of mines, and ginger island, BEFORE desert fest, spring 14. (He has reset every single day, multiple times, sometimes many manyyy tries, to get most ideal rng. i'm talking many irl hours spent on each and every day)

Day 12 and 175,000g so far. how he'll make 800,000g in the last two weeks remains to be seen.... assuming it involves skull cavern/desert fest/fishing (like if he gets the extended fam qi quest... game over, 800k would be easy lol.

I finished my first spring for this save. I actually managed to remember everyone's birthday - even Pierre's. I also got 18 strawberry seeds at the Egg festival earlier, and managed ot get the speed grow from the community center bundle when the festival was over, so I had three harvests of strawberries.

Unfortunately I did forget Jas in the first week of summer. I also keep forgetting the travelling cart, and I forgot QoS a few times, but I'm now caught up again by watching a ton of reruns.

I spent the first few weeks of summer just mining. The first two dwarf scrolls practically fell into my lap, so I'm now grinding for the third, just doing the ice floors with blue slimes over and over again.
My mining and combat skills are actually higher than fishing, which is unusual.

I upgraded all my tools except my trash can to copper. I'm now gathering iron ore. Decided to be a Miner (more ore) and a Fighter (because I'm not too great at special moves anyway). I also picked Gatherer over Lumberjack this time.
I still need to get fishing up to level 5. Trout Derby is coming up, so maybe I'll waste a few days fishing for trout with my bamboo pole.

I updated my mods and it made the whole game mess up and not load saves or new game, it was a mess. Had to pull all the mods out and put them back in carefully. now my old save doesn't work and I lost all my work, but I fixed it and I can play again. and I'm starting my own mod this week also.

So I'm now on my first summer. Like I said, I forgot Jas. Annoying, because it takes forever to get these kids up to 8 hearts so they can tell me the secrets of the spring onion... By the time they tell me, I'm usually already at the stage where I really don't bother to go pick them in the first place...

I planted my crops the first day. I made basic fertilizer for my melons, as I want to get gold-star melons for the community center. I also planted a lot of corn. I hope I can find 5 gold-star corn and finsih the Quality bundle.

I found the blue dwarf scroll in the mines, and a rusty spoon. Also found a cog, I think this is the third or fourth cog I've found so far. Somebody murdered and dismembered a piece of machinery and buried the evidence all over the valley...

I keep forgetting QoS on Sunday, but usually remember to watch the reruns. I also keep forgetting to check the travelling merchant. However, the few times I did check (mostly because I accidentally passed the wagon on my way to somewhere else) anything that seemed useful was also super-expensive.

I gave Gus a diamond for his birthday. Maru got a strawberry. I saved my gold-star strawberries for Maru and Demetrius. I also had one gold-star cauliflower, and I used that for the Luau soup the next day, to impress the plump purple politician Lewis was schmoozing with. I should have remembered to get the purple shorts for the soup...
I gave Alex one of Chip's gold-star large eggs, because I really didn't know what else to give him.

On Sunday I learned how to cook pancakes. I don't know why it doesn't say "make" - cooking pancakes doesn't sound right.

I brought my axe to Clint for an upgrade. I
removed the last of the green grass in an effort to fill my second silo.
I also realised I finally have the materials to make a glowstone ring, which was very much needed.

I guess some of the Maru's inventions aren't very welcome...

Triple p is an objectively better name for him. Thanks for the idea.

I keep forgetting that you don't get that neat glow around you when starting a new save. Equipping one sure does feel great.

That's great, btw, fantastic nickname 😂

Interesting idea, but yeah, you're probably right about it. 🤔

It was a pretty good idea, you never can't go wrong giving him eggs... 🥰

I really missed the light, and the magnetism. I was so happy with the glowstone ring, and it's even better now that I have a glow ring from one of the cc bundles. It's always weird to go from a Perfection farm to a new save, I keep missing my shortcuts, the mine carts, my rings, and of course decent tools.
I'm not in a hurry with this save, but there are some things I really want to get my hands on as soon as possible.

So I'm still on my first summer. I started the new week planting new melons. I got two gold-star melons from my harvest, so I'm hoping I'll have 3 more.
I also retrieved my upgraded axe and got into the Secret Woods. I was really excited to get in and then forgot all about the area for the rest of the season.
For some reason I thought it was a good idea to have Robin build a third silo. I still only have two chickens...

Wednesday was Sam's birthday. I'd been giving him cans of Joja Cola, but didn't have one in my inventory on his birthday, so I gave him a large egg, too. He was pretty happy with it, and I saw his 3-heart cut scene that same day. I usually miss that, but I'm concentrating on the villagers more than I normally do.
I watched the rerun of QofS, and for the first time I did not get a new recipe. I'm finally caught up. For now. I asked Clint to upgrade the pickaxe to steel. Busy day.

Demetrius came by the next morning to ask about the cave. I picked mushrooms and forgot all about the cave straight away. I did get mushrooms in the mines, so the cave mushrooms are immediately useless for the community center.
Now that I don't have bats, I should get myself some saplings. I'm probably already too late to get the apples, but should maybe get one pomegranate if I plant it now. (Well, I did have the good intentions. Let that be a comfort!)

On Friday I went to the mountains to give Demetrius a strawberry. While I was up there anyway, I decided to go into the mines to see whether I could find Dwarf Scroll IV. I took the elevator down to a level with a lot of dirt to hoe, and actually got it on my second try. So I ran to the library, gave the scroll to Gunther, picked up the steel pickaxe and rushed back up to clear the path to the dwarf. So efficient. And I was not even planning to be efficient.

I managed to get my fishing up to level 4 during the Trout Derby. I got all the prizes (barely), but it took me both days this time, with the bamboo rod and no bait. I kept the diamond for Willy's upcoming birthday.
I still didn't remember to visit the cave and check out my mushrooms. Maybe next week.

Helllllllo everyone, this is your daily dose of "Nonak reduces Stardew Valley to only Junimo Kart because who needs the rest of the game"
ꜝꜝꜝꜝꜝꜝꜝꜝꜝꜝꜝ

A couple Sunset Speedway attempts.
Also noticed that in Ghastly Galleon sometimes you just have nowhere to land - the supposedly safe space is taken up by a ghost at that moment. Kind of unfair, but doesn't change that much.
Tried playing with sound on for the first time in a while, I thought the constant coin collecting and hitting the rails would be annoying, but nope. Good to know.

Yesterday:
Tree planting and tree clearing day! Expanded the orchard, removed wild trees. Not much exciting otherwise, except that Rowan got their wish, and there's a GIANT giant spring bell flower....

Screenshot (384).png

Of course, now they're wondering why they didn't try for a cauliflower as well, and wondering if they'll have enough quality crops for the CC....

(I as a player have a terrible habit of shipping everything gold star without thinking)

Today:
Somehow even on a day when they were muttering "just get to the mines" to themselves, Rowan just couldn't seem to actually leave the farm before early evening. They could blame it on the beaver and the otter, who were so much fun to watch playing in the streams... but the truth was, even when Rowan had tried to be laser focused, time just slipped past.

(pic of otter in the stream, by the orchard...)
Screenshot (389).png

Which meant having to abandon the dig when they knew it would only take a little more work to dig down to the next place the elevator could be repaired. Still, they came out of it with solar essence, which they definitely needed, along with the more obvious gold and stone. Those shadow brutes were disturbing; those creatures looked so much like the slightly littler guy they'd met who'd given them the magnifying glass, and whom, it had to be said, they actually kind of wanted to talk to again. But attempts to speak to these just let them get close enough that Rowan had to use their sword. Maybe it was something to do with the strange remnants of dark magic they left behind... Rowan would ask the wizard, the next time they brought him some of that void essence, but he'd just say it was a mystery a mere mundane couldn't fathom, sniff, and wonder out loud why a farmer was still standing around, waiting.

Speaking of which, the next day would be the day to visit town and get Robin to upgrade the barn... Among fr too many other little tasks. This would take some planning. Maybe being up until 2 AM the night before wasn't so smart...

So here's the next week in my saga of trying to play cozy and relaxed on Meadowsweet Farm. (I know, I'm of a devastating originality in naming my farms...)

I started the next week by planting new melons. I got two gold-star melons from my harvest, so I'm hoping I'll have 3 next time.

I also retrieved my upgraded axe and got into the Secret Woods. I was really excited to get in and then forgot all about the place for the rest of the season. 😂

For some reason I thought it was a good idea to have Robin build a third silo. Just to fill up that space. 🤓 I still only have two chickens.

Wednesday was Sam's birthday. I'd been giving him cans of Joja Cola, but didn't have one in my inventory on his birthday, so I gave him a large egg, too. He was pretty happy with it, and I saw his 3-heart cut scene that same day. I usually miss that, but I'm concentrating on the villagers more than I normally do in Year 1.

Now that I don't have bats, I should get myself some saplings. I'm probably already too late to get the apples, but should maybe get one pomegranate if I plant it now. (Well, I did have the good intentions. Let that be a comfort for future me!)

On Friday I went to the mountains to give Demetrius a strawberry. While I was up there anyway, I decided to go into the mines to see whether I could find Dwarf Scroll IV. I took the elevator down to 95, dug the entire patch and repeated. I actually got it on my second try. So I ran to the library, gave the scroll to Gunther, picked up the steel pickaxe and rushed back up to clear the path to the dwarf. So efficient.
And I was not even planning to be efficient. 🤣

I managed to get my fishing up to level 4 during the Trout Derby. I got all the prizes (barely), but it took me both days this time, with the bamboo rod and no bait. I kept the diamond for Willy's upcoming birthday, which for now is the last birthday of Summer.

The rest of the week was uneventful. I forgot to buy the saplings, forgot to get the hardwood and totally forgot about the existence of the travelling cart. I barely made it in time to see the Moonlight Jellies.

Replaced a fourth stack for the year, and brought the indicator crystalarium and the rest into sync again. A stack of prismatic shards joined the stacks that will be sold at the end of the year. Getting one a day means there's no real need to hang on to them.

I could've given Abigail one of the amethysts from the shed with statues of endless fortune on her birthday, but those went into the amethyst chest, and she got a chocolate cake instead.

Not all that happy with the purple mushroom to common mushroom ratio at my latest mushroom harvest, but there's nothing to do about it except hope for better luck next time.

Monday was Dwarf's birthday, and I have plenty of gems, so that wasn't an issue. I gave my diamond to Willy on the 24th. That was the last of the summer's birthdays, and I only missed the one. It's a new record.

On Friday my melons were grown, and I had a giant one. I planted wheat where the melons had been, and took 5 gold star melons to the community center. By now I also had 5 gold star corn ears, so I took those, too. That's another bundle taken care of.

Since I was halfway there, I went up to Robin's to ask her to upgrade my house for me. I also moved my house a few tiles.

The farm is fully cleared now. Just blue grass, no trees, no ugly big rocks and logs. I should start to think about maybe a barn. Maybe upgrading my coop, too.
I completely forgot about the fall fruit trees, of course. Since I still only have two chickens and no other animals, I don't really think it will make a difference for the community center, since I don't have milk, or duck eggs, or red cabbage...

I finally remembered to make tappers. I just put them on trees near the bus stop and in the backwoods, since I pass by both places a lot anyway.

Fall is coming.
