Where shall I propose to Shane?

My farmer who is going to marry Shane has his Mermaid Pendant and an upgraded farmhouse next to a deluxe coop full of chickens, and just needs to dye some pants to be ready to go! But it occurs to me that Shane does not spend a lot of time in what one might consider romantic locations. So, shall I sweep him off his feet at work (will he even answer me?), propose at the saloon in front of everyone, or catch him somewhere else?

Hm, my farmers usually prefer some privacy, since a proposal is something very private for me in IRL, too.
Asking at Joja Mart might cause him some beef with Morris (or maybe give Shane at least one nice memory of his working place...) Asking him at the Saloon feels like not giving him an option to say No (not that the npcs in game would do so), just like these very romantic proposals during concerts or Arena matches... Catching him walking around also feels a bit unpersonal. So proposing at Marnies Ranch seems to be a good place for that, it's kinda like his safe space.

I think proposing to him at the Stardrop Saloon may be in bad taste, but hey, who knows, he could have just kept the good memories of the place?

Personally, I'd do Marnie's ranch, I think lore wise Jas would be so excited if you involved her even a tiny bit, and that's really cute

It's funny because I never really put any thought into where I propose in any of my places. I just give the mermaid pendant whenever I get the chance.

I never gave it any thought on my two married saves so far - they are both with Elliott, and I'm sure I just found him in his cabin or on the beach. It just hit me that Shane spends most of his day in much less romantic situations, and I figured what the heck, let's have a bit of in-my-head story with it!

I love the idea of Jas being involved. I'm sad that (I assume) the proposal scene can't have dialog from any bystanders. I'm thinking Marnie's ranch is the best place, so I'll just imagine she ran into Shane's room to tell him that there was something really cool in the chicken house he needed to see, and he came in and found Farmer Rowan there with the mermaid pendant. She'd be the flower girl at the wedding, of course!

When I married Penny, I just did it in her reading spot in town. But I like how you tried to make it a more "romantic" situation. I was considering marrying Shane, but then came his 6-heart cutscene. So depressing. And then I noticed Penny's living situation with Pam and went, "I'm going to marry Penny even though I currently only have 2-3 hearts on her!"

Penny's reading spot seems like a nice place to propose! Shane just spends so much time in depressing locations, so I wanted to do something else.
