How do you get into the gated elevator it's locked I play on android and in year 65 so I have been playing since 2016. Tell me please.
How to get into the gated elevator

In the volcano? Reach the top of the volcano. Then go down the side path to reach the other side of the gate and press the pressure plate. In my last few saves I've opened it in year 3.

Go to the top of the Volcano? Inside it or outside it to get to the elevator! What is the purpose? I'm confused...

you have to cross the lava river (with watering can) in the volcano to access the inside, there its like the mines, just a bit harder, and at the tenth floor you can permanently unlock the elevator to quickly head up or down
its worth it because the forge is up there, as well as a Prismatic shard

It took me forever to get to the volcano top and the thing I needed to do was: RUN.

You should go through every floor up until the 10th floor then you'll get to the Volcano Caldera (I'm assuming you could get through every level that contains lava and requried the use of watering can). After you got into Volcano Caldera, find the way back other than the first entrance you're using, there you'll get into the first floor through the gate that was closed.
Using screen capture to examine the way out and any button click is genius! I've never thought of that before (at least on Volcano Dungeon^^^ All of this.

Just RUN past most of the monsters andBomb your way through stone patches that block your way. The button click puzzles are the worst, but take a screen capture of each room and view it while your game is paused and plan your route in that room. Doing it this way was what helped me finally reach the top and then go down the path on the side to open the gate.

Did you ever reach it?
The purpose of that grated elevator is that once you unlock it from the other side, it's a shortcut to get to the top to use the forge that is there.
