1.6 Update Loading Slingshot

Hi, I'm new to the game and have just reached level 81 in the mine. I was attacked immediately by a range creature so I need to use the slingshot (or master slingshot). I tried clicking on the ammo (I've tried stone and iron ore) then right clicking on the the slingshot but nothing happens. Am I missing something? I've tried all sorts of clicking options but nothing seems to work

Have you tried drag & drop? How do you put bait on your fishing rod? It should be the same.

Fishing rod doesn't work either. Tried drag and drop and that doesn't work. To bait crab pots I have to put them in the water first.

You do have to put crab pots in the water before baiting them. To bait your fishing rod, though, open your inventory (with ESC), click the bait, and then right-click the fishing rod. For mobile, I think you would open the inventory and then drag and drop? The important thing is to open the inventory and not just try to do it out in the world.

I've tried to open the inventory (via ESC) and I still can't load the slingshot nor the fishing pole.
I can't even bring up fish...it is SOOO aggravating!!
I really need to get to the walnuts I can't reach...

If you're using ESC I assume you're on PC (or, like me, Mac)? You should be able to open the inventory, left-click the ammo or bait, then right-click on the fishing rod or slingshot. After that if you left-click the fishing rod/slingshot in your inventory you should see that slot filled with the bait or ammo. If you go through those steps, what do you see happen? Do you have a two-button mouse? (If not, you would hold down the control key while clicking for right click.)
