I need to get these last two things to get into the Mastery Cave!Is there a possible way to get enough books to read to get to mastery? I honestly don't want to go into the mines rn so that would be lovely if you could help me out.

You can read books to reach that final level. However, going from 9 to 10 takes 5000 exp, half of what you've earned until that point. If you've only just got there, it would take about 20 books for each skill. And unless you get a whole lot of Combat Quarterly and Mining Monthly from fishing, artifact spot digging and chopping trees, you'd need to spend a few years waiting for the book seller (unless you have a mod so you can buy more than one each time he visits).

The faster way in my opinion is going after the monster eradication goals for the adventurers' guild for combat, and targeting ore nodes for mining.

Combat mastery is the only reason I hope to see the prismastic slime quest. It lags behind mining typically.

Books to lvl 10 is not really feasible unless if you find it in the traveling cart(?) which sells infinite copies - don't quote me on this though I saw someone on legacy RNG do that for a speedrun. So you are pretty much forced to go back to the mines.

Yes, there is a small possibility that the Travellers Cart has not only one book of a kind but roundabout 50 I think. It's pretty much gold to spent, I did it once with "Bait and Bobber" and became in theory the best Fishergirl ever But you can also use them to fullfill the mastery Points after entering the cave.

It would probably be more efficient for mining to buy (or craft) bombs and blow up rocks rather than books because the books are expensive and harder to get than bombs. Combat is tougher. If you don't like Skull Cavern, you can just hit the slimes in the lower levels of the mines over and over again. It's especially good if you find a slime infested level then just keep going back to that level. It's better if you have monster musk.

Get all skills to level ten and then get more experience to get the perks.
For mining and combat, just go to skull caverns on good luck days.

Jack be Nimble, Jack Be thick, Combat Quarterly, Mining Monthly. buy them all when you're able. Book of Stars is also nice, but I think not as common. Also check the traveling cart Friday and Sunday's, they can sometimes sell skill books. You'll usually need 5,000 gold or more.

If you have the mystery box Qi cut scene, you can potentially get skill books through them mystery boxes, though it's not very reliable since there are a lot of different things you can potentially get.

If you go to the mines and find a infested floor, you can continue to go back to that level of the mines and just spawn kill monsters.

So say that floor 76 has monster invested floor, you can just repeatedly redo that floor all day long for combat.

Note that if you want to buy books, the dwarfish safety manual can be reread for experience, and is much easier to buy since you do not have to wait for the bookseller or the traveling cart.
