CA keeping with tradition, 1.7 will get a new farm!

It would be nice to have a place to practice combat, like an area with little dummies that you can attack or practice aim with your slingshot, much like how in Paper Mario: The Origami King has the area where you can practice getting perfects when fighting enemies. Maybe add a feature where the more you practice the more likely you are to get higher damaging attacks or critical hits. You can practice on certain weapons, and as you get more comfortable with your weapon it becomes better. Also maybe it affects buffs that the weapon gives you, or as you work harder you get prizes, like rings and boots. This could also be an addition to the adventurer's guild, and-

I think I'm going a bit too far with this. CA should hire me, I'm awesome at this

Yeah! Currently, combat is the only skill you can't grind reliably, so it would be nice to have a place to do that.

Yes, and with all the care that was brought to dialogues in the two last updates, it would be a shame to undo it for just one farm.
unless you write custom dialogue that is farm specific. I don't think the back-end structure would be too difficult to pull it off, the big challenge would be reworking everyone's dialogue, but if done I can see this being a very successful update

I do too, I quite enjoy winters in sdv, but I also grew up in a place where it didn't snow, so this is a real thing. I wouldn't know what to do about crops tho. it also might mess with some dialogue
Even if your farm didn't get snow, I imagine the town, mountains, forest, and beach still would. Just as the beach farm extends the ocean to your farm without altering the rest of the map, and the woodland farm does the same with the forest, I imagine a desert farm would just bring the desert landscape down to your farm without changing the rest of the map. So there really wouldn't need to be any changes to dialogue. Well, perhaps your spouse/roomate should get some acknowledging the difference. Pierre and Caroline don't stock seeds any differently when you have a greenhouse, so why would they for a desert farm?

like maybe something at lewis' house that lets you change your farms name for ~10,000g
Would fit in well with what you're currently able to do there, makes sense from a logistical standpoint, too, why wouldn't you go to the mayor of a small town (who probably has land records if anyone does) to change farm names?

Would be a fun easter egg if grandpa mentioned it too:
"you've been doing great on ForestFarm far- sorry, I mean Forest farm" (yes, it is a canon event for every stardew player to name their farm "___farm farm" not knowing we automatically get the 'farm' title at the end)

that's kinda genius tbh. I still want to be able to name a farm a ranch or something else tho
