Issue No talking option with spouse in the morning

As the title says, about an in-game year after marriage i have no option to talk to Elliot anymore. It works fine when he's outside the house, but for several hours after 6am there is no speach bubble when i hover over him.

I do play with mods, but the ones that i've added recently have nothing to do with npc expansions etc (just fashion sense mods). Additionally, i don't think that mods are causing this because its become an issue after i've already been playing for a few hours without exiting the game. It's been like that for a few irl days and maybe an in-game month. Still, posting this here as per forum rules.

Is this an 1.6 feature? In earlier version i had no such issues so i'm still willing to believe that maybe its just a thing that happens. Regardless i'd like to hear a second opinion before redowloading the game to save myself the hassle

also i don't know if this is relevant, but after getting the "do you want to have children" pop up and "i've sent the adoption papers" interraction, nothing happened. My house had a crib by that point and several in game months have also passed

unfortunately it didn't work, though it was some progress (aka; i got a dialogue option twice in a row. the rest of the week was radio silent). I'm starting to believe that whatever is messing with the game is kid-related, as the crib is frozen. I'm not sure if you can interract with it normally but i can't move mine at all

i'm pretty sure that the save is just scuffed and there isn't a way to fix it besides divorce. I've also tried playing completely modless, which didn't fix the issue either. I guess i'll just have to live with it lolz, ty for your help though.
