post anything that you think is bad (it must be your art)
that is mine
(it's very bad [in my opinion]) remember this is all opinion so don't insult each other too
basically post anything you want to show people that isn't bad looking

I actually genuinely love this. It's okay to think that your art is bad, but please remember that you're always going to be your own worst and harshest critic. You look at your work through all its stages, and you either grow to love it or hate it along the way. The thing is, though, from an outsider's perspective, we don't get that process; we are only greeted with the final piece.
What I love about your work is the fact that you've added so many intricate details that people often miss out on at first glance. Like, the shading on the legs of the spider goes from lighter to darker depending on its stance, which gives that effect of the spider being so massive and menacing that its legs are in different planes/distances from one another. It's cool!
I always wonder this when I look at artwork, but what was your reference or motivation behind this piece? I personally find spiders to be frightening, and I know very well my imagination would turn an innocent, itty-bitty spider into a huge man-eating arachnid that wants to cause trouble in this nation, but I was just wondering if you had a specific experience with spiders that might have compelled you to make this. Nonetheless, I think it's awesome!
Also, since I replied to this, I'll plug in some of my work that I'm not really that proud of lol
This was my vain attempt at using charcoal-based tools to draw this. I didn't realise how much it would smudge, and I just hate all the proportions, especially at the base. The bars on the cage are actually uneven on either side and my shading is just terrible lmfao
I grimace whenever I look back at this, but it's just a prime example of something that I am not particularly fond of.
And this is a super abstract recreation of some work, but I messed up the proportions big time, and the colours did not blend as well as I had hoped. I feel like I'm allergic to picking up a regular pen or pencil and having a go on paper since I've been using oil pastels/crayons/charcoal for most things.
The fish itself is okay, but I think in the future I'll try to shade or test the colour compatibility better. I prefer digital art anyway, and this was a few years ago and I would like to think I improved since then lol

i didnt exactly base this off a spider only, more of a 3 story tall shadow monster, and i imagined a pitch black cosmic horror thats consuming everything in its path
its like a venus flytrap mixed with a spider from the macroverse :3
