Lmaoo a lot of people blow fireworks on a lot of occasions and it bothers the hell out of me. Some dude literally blasted a firework so loud that everyone thought it was a gunshot.Culturally most holidays celebrate something worth celebrating though there are a few that celebrate people best left forgotten, or at least used as a bad example. I'm not gonna pick and choose between their relative importance except for what truly matters in these weary times.
It's all about that sweet sweet time off.
In order:
Retirement
Vacation
Medical Procedure with extensive recuperating time
Personal Injury (non-life threatening)
Christmas thru New Year's
American Thanksgiving
and last:
All them single-day holidays. Who's able to catch up on sleep in a single day? 'Specially when everyone else is making all kindsa noise for whatever reason.
I don't get really excited for New Year but most people here celebrate that intensively. BBQ, Fireworks, etc. We also don't celebrate Christmas here.New Year. We don't celebrate Christmas so new year is my main winter holiday and I start getting it's vibes with the first snow. It's just great for the mood
My mom hates fireworks plus they got banned with the start of the war, so I've never actually seen them irlI don't get really excited for New Year but most people here celebrate that intensively. BBQ, Fireworks, etc. We also don't celebrate Christmas here.
Lmaoo I hate that if it was real. The heat is unbearable let alone the desert.Desert Festival
I always get excited for the Friday since it's the weekend here and yeah a day off is awesome even if not a holiday. All holidays are equally great, always love an off day
I wish we celebrated Halloween here. Me from like two years ago would hate it tho. I used to be scared to death by even slasher villains. Now it's kinda meh because Freddie isn't gonna terrorise my town he die from the pollution lol.I like Halloween because it's my one chance in the year to dress up silly without anyone questioning it
Christmas is also pretty cool (Mostly because it gives me like 2 weeks off in the year)
My mom doesn't see hate them but yeah it annoys her. Fireworks are very cool to see tho.My mom hates fireworks plus they got banned with the start of the war, so I've never actually seen them irl
I hate "All I Want For Christmas Is You" but I'd have to disagree on the second part. We get new clothes for Eid here no matter how poor you are.Christmas. Only holiday with it's own genre of music. (Thanksgiving doesn't count!) Also it's really the only holiday you actually get anything from. Every other is just food or candy.
Valentines Day is meh for me. I do remember my parents got a free cake at a restaurant for valentines so that's that. Thanksgiving sounds good but really your right a whole ass turkey is too much prep. My country's victory day is also in December coincidentally lmaoo.Great question!
Christmas is one of my favorites for sure.
American Thanksgiving is really enjoyable but... There's way too much prep.
December 7th (Slime Day)
I am particularly looking forward to Valentine's Day this next year...![]()

Yeah reflecting is really nice. 2025 for example went by EXTREMELY fast. A lot happened in this period of time so yeah reflecting on that is a good experience.Probably X-Mas, when our whole family comes together, not just parts... And also new year, often spent with friends then. But most of all I like the days between, they feel somehow special, a time for reflexion, planning and relaxing, the old year's nearly over and the new one hasn't started yet...![]()
