Sell Your Clothes?

I'm brand new here but been playing the game since its release. Please forgive if this has already been asked!

I would love to be able to gift/donate or sell items of clothing and I don't understand why this isn't already an in game feature. Can't even sell my hats to a mouse :(

I am not able to sell or gift any of the clothing Ive made either, I thought it was a glitch in the game.

They are intended to be decorative only, not a mechanic to earn money or friendship.
