Switch island field office glitch

I'm playing 1.6 on Switch, and I seem to have found a glitch in the island field office. I've donated everything and have completed the surveys, but when I go to the desk, it still asks me to donate. There are no empty spaces available, so what would I donate? I verified everything was completed, I deleted the software and re downloaded it. Any suggestions?

which hint does the professor give?

the most common to miss is the fossilised ribs because the large skeleton looks complete without it.
