Not in vanilla Stardew - you have to be married.
I don't know of any mods that allow this but I'm also not involved in the modding community so my knowledge is limited.

Nope, marriage in is the instigator for moving in (spouse will move in the day of the marriage ceremony)
You may(?) find a roommate with friends type of mod that would allow for what you want on cursedforge
