Can't purchase cows

Hi - I'm new here. I did do a search but couldn't find an answer. I play on the Nintendo Switch and have just gotten a barn on my farm, but Marnie won't sell me any cows. Am I missing something? I never got notified by Robin that it was done, but I've been in and out of it all day today. I've also put hay in the feeder. I have a silo but it's near my coop. Any help would be wonderful and very appreciated.

What day and time are you going to make the purchase? She's closed on Monday, Tuesday, and most festivals. And she closes up shop by 4 pm.

I know this is probably silly to ask, but sometimes thing get translated weirdly if you are playing in another language - are you sure you built a barn and not a coop?

(Robin does not tell you when she is done, but you won't see her working in it any more when she is finished. You don't need any upgrades to buy cows, so it should be ready to accept animals if you are able to put hay on the feeding bench.)

The buildings also look like the pictures when you ask Robin to build them so I'm pretty sure that I have both a barn and a coop. I have 4 chickens in my coop and Marnie won't let me purchase more until I upgrade. That's why I came here. Everything I read says I should be able to purchase cows for my 'regular' barn. I've tried at different times and never on a weekend.

The picture you sent shows a coop, not a barn. Barns look like this:

Everyone makes mistakes. It happens! And, well, you can have a little chicken empire. Build some mayo makers to process all those eggs!

For what it's worth, Marnie IS open on weekends. In fact, I think only Willy is closed on Saturday. You can get plenty of shopping done on the weekends.

Two coops are okay.
In late game, you will unlock more species of cute animals, two coops means you have enough capability to raise these adorable animals.

That is one of the great things about this game. There is no right or wrong so getting two coops isn't a mistake- it just means you can have more chickens.

Just found this thread , I have a barn the red one . But it says I can only chickens ducks and rabbits . I’ve bought more barns but cannot access anymore animals . From what I’ve been looking online possible glitch . I’m playing on the switch . After some help please

That sounds like a coop, not a barn.

In order to buy ducks and rabbits you need a coop that is upgraded all the way. It's a reddish wooden building with a red roof, red trim and a red door. It has a small hatch for chickens to get out.

This is a fully upgraded coop from one of my farms:

A barn is a brighter red building with a brown roof, white trim and a bigger door. Is that the one you have?
