I just remembered something, wild seeds when harvested may leave an untilled ground behind. Looking at your screenshot I already see some untilled squares. Do not let wild seeds grow full term, which means seed your fields a few days before season turns. I usually seed on 26th-27th.

Yeah. I gradually saw that. That's not a Winter 28 shot. In the process, I got a lot of good forage and built up to hundreds of seeds.
