I just name them Duck 1, Duck 2, and so on, or Cow 1, Cow 2, Cow 3. Cow 4, ect, ect,.

I go with themes. This is over different saves:

My dinos are named for Toho Kaiju
My chickens are named for existential crises
My pigs are named for fictional aristocrats and monsters under the bed
My sheep are given silly names because I ran out of themes and they make Wool for Emily so they need to be happy

My horse is named after the first Skeleton Horse I ever tamed in Minecraft: Mr. Boneybutt

So, my character I always just name "Dude", so I always keep the default name for the animal as "Dudley", because it's perfect for them <3<3<3

I hope those forbidden files are hiding evidence of a mixed gordo, because I platinumed the first slime rancher and never saw one. I'll have to check my save file but I think I had a corral of honey-tabbies. Booms were bred with rads, because who doesn't want spontaneously detonating nuclear weapons?

i have this bad habit of naming animals after irl people or characters from my favorite tv shows. currently i'm in a HUGE kpop phase(??? probably permanent lol) so they're all named after kpop idols

I don't remember naming my animals anything that weird. I'll check next time I play.
Though some of my pets in older saves are named this:

You guys probably know of my farms with 1800+ animals, so I've had plenty of opportunities to name weird animals.

The first is my army of something like 400 golden chickens all named 'chicken'

My other is my collection of pigs. I'm not sure when it started, but all my pigs I've gotten in files over the last 5-6 years all have names ending in -orto; it works great for the first few: "borto", "cheorto", but quickly devolves into "hrororto", "beojorto" as soon as I start to run out of ideas

I just checked and my current horse is Clever Hans (the famous ‘counting’ horse), another one to make it to RDR2.
