I planted an apple sapling during Fall day 2 and I've been getting some responses that it should be planted no later than day 1. Will my apple tree still grow?

It won’t produce in fall sadly. You’ll have to wait an entire year until it starts producing

Fruit trees take a full season to grow. They will even grow during Winter but they only produce fruit during their noted harvest season. So your apple sapling will grow but won't produce fruit until next Fall, unless it's planted in a greenhouse. Greenhouse trees produce fruit all year long.

Generally, it is best to plant all fruit trees together, inside the greenhouse or upon the Ginger Island farm. This way, they produce fruit all year round. They grow normally, unless the message is specifically related to their growth (your tree didn't grow because reasons), in which case you have to secure that the next 8 next tiles around the sappling, are vacant and clean.
