Hey, I've finally broken down and decided to seek help about this issue that has been frustrating me beyond belief!
TL;DR: with or without body and clothing/shoe/sleeve mods, my farmer sprite is missing either her arms or legs, or both.
Here is my SMAPI log!
I really don't care for the vanilla farmer sprite, so I've tried multiple ways to make her cuter via a few different body type mods (never at the same time) and various fashion sense items. So far, the one that gives me the least amount of trouble is the peach body type - but even that one seems incompatible with literally any shoe mod I've ever tried. I can also never configure the sleeves options in a way that makes them work, and there are about a trillion posts about sleeve issues online whose solutions have done nothing for me (or are otherwise different than my issues specifically)
Also, if I try to use any other body mod, SHE HAS NO ARMS! No matter how I change the "sleeve" settings. I've even tried downloading a couple of different "sleeves" mods from Nexus, and I must be missing something, because I cannot figure out how to apply them or make them work with the sprite (with or without a body mod). She just remains armless. UNLESS I have the peach body installed, in which case she does have arms, for some reason (but no sleeves or any sleeve options that work).
So, in a bit of a blind rage, I finally moved my entire folder of hair/clothing/etc mods (and the body mod) out of the mods folder and started up the game, just to find that the 100% vanilla sprite now has NO LIMBS
I can select these shoes, but dear god above, those clown shoes need to go. Unfortunately though, when I have a body mod and try to give her cute shoes, the shoes always seem to be for some other body mod that is dramatically different.
I return the peach body mod, and viola, she has arms again
Extra annoying is the fact that I'm clearly not even configuring the body type correctly, as she looks virtually identical to the vanilla screenshot... just with arms. Sigh.
I just don't know what I've done or how to fix it. I'm so envious of people who have sprites that look like these, but this seems like an impossible goal to attain at this point, lol.
