When enchanting a watering can with a Prismatic Shard, it showed the bar on the watering can turn to purple before I had finished the enchant (but still had the ??? enchantment shown when I scrolled over it). As far as I know, this is the only enchantment that you see before it's done. Helpful, but unfair.
