I don't play on ios so I don't have answers only suggestions .It usually asks before the next day after you sleep to select your professions . I guess you can test if it is a glitch in your save file by starting a different one and getting a skill to level 5 and see if it allows you to select. I know for sure you can change your professions later in the game after you donate a bunch to the museum there is a statue in the sewer it is costly though like 10,000g I think and that only changes one profession at a time. even then It might select for you if you having some sort of issue IDK. I would run a test. Perhaps a cloud /save reinstall might help if the test has the same problem , But if it is auto selecting Tiller for farming, Gatherer for foraging, fisher for fishing, those are generally the best of those categories at lvl5 if you playing for $$$.. Mining and Combat professions are a little more debatable but gemologist and fighter at lvl5 seem to be what most people would want, If it is auto selecting those for you then that would be nice of it to do...Perhaps some one else could chime in with a better answer but that's all I got .. good luck with it :)
