Panning upgrades

The way the panning system works right now isn't all that useful right now in my opinion so why not be able to upgrade the pan to get rarer materials more often or maybe make panning spots a little more common, just something to make panning a little more worthwhile.

While we're at it, I've noticed that panning spots often show up in inaccessible locations, such as in the middle of the lake.

Some type of panning profession/perk would be cool too. Or even a whole new skill in general.

Yeah, I agree wholeheartedly. I was excited when I unlocked panning and it became tedious the same day, and I placed my pan in a chest somewhere to free up inventory space and forgot about it.

Yea, tried doing it once, and it didn't really pan out for me very well.

I think the big problem is that panning is something that's supposed to be a "bonus" instead of a dedicated activity. So, the payoff can't be too big, which makes it not even worth the slot. A possible fix would be making it basically an alternative to fishing, where you have an entire dedicated minigame that turns in-game time into ore, possibly with some panning-exclusive loot.
