How to use copper pan on IOS

Hi guys, i’ve just got the glittering boulder removed and received a copper pan from willy, but I wonder how to use it. I’ve seen couple of glittering spots at the river, but I dont know how to use the pan. Tried to click on the toolbar on the left of the screen, but it doesnt work.

• Get to the water edge closest to where you see the glitter.
• Activate the pan by tapping on its toolbar icon just like any other tool.
• Tap on the glitter, your farmer should start panning.

It often takes a few tries for this to work, very inconvenient on mobile game. Personally, I find it too much of a bother for a few pieces of ore and occasional gem. Plus the copper pan takes valuable space in your bag. I ditched the pan and ignore the glitter.
