Solved [HELP] Save File Crashing

When I enter the main menu and click on my save file, the game crashes. I just downloaded the 1.5 update and removed my mods for now to see the new features. I am currently running it on my Macbook Pro. I tried to restart my computer and reinstall the game, but it didn't work. I am not a computer person so I'm not sure how to check my past save data or anything. Could anyone help me out?

Since this is a modded save, it is unlikely a bug with the game. I suggest first...
  1. reinstalling latest SMAPI
  2. renaming your Mods folder to anything but Mods
  3. running the game with smapi installed
If that works, you can either play like that with SMAPI (should be fine), or verify your content files to make sure you have all the vanilla files intact and that your startup script reverts to original. It might work even without SMAPI after that, if the problem was stuff like custom NPCs/locations in your save.
