Let Shane take over the cash register when Marnie's not available

We've all been there, it's winter, you've run out of food for your animals, and Marnie's not there when you need to be. It's annoying to have her be gone for two days in a row for the week, sometimes more if there's a festival or she has a checkup.

I don't know if this suggestion's been made yet but here's my idea: Let Shane take over the cash register after you finish building the Community Center. Instead of him being jobless and have nothing to do, he can work at the cash register on Mondays or Tuesdays. Some of the other shops managed to change their schedule around after you reopen the community center(Pierre being open on Wednesdays, Clint now closes on Fridays) so why not Marnie's ranch too? If you marry him, it'll be like Maru where he'll be away from the house for the day and comes back in the evening.

Yes! This could be after his 7 Heart event so it’s like he’s taking more responsibility for his life and spending more time with Jas at their home!

I love this idea! It seems like anytime I want to visit Marnie she isn't there. Also, it would fit with the character growth for Shane.

@abnormalvan also makes a good point about other shops changing their hours post CC completion. This would easily fit with the others.

I really want Shane to have some sort of work after Jojo closes. I was thinking he should be working the theater, but it makes a lot of sense. Marine is NOT a reliable shop keeper. Locking it behind the 7 heart event also sounds perfect for his story arc.

While we are talking about changes, why were there no blue chickens during the fall fair? Also, I got a letter where Shane is mentioning getting food from Jojo, and Jojo is long gone, so this letter should be changed to something else

Oh my god this would be a lifesaver, I always feel so bad for my animals when I run out of hay. Then turns out Marnie isn’t working.

Also I just love Shane, and he needs a new income without Joja. <3

Excellent idea ! It happens not once nor twice but multiple times , when i was in desperate need of hay , come to her shop and found that she out or even worse - staying in her room and do nothing !

As an addition to Shane changes, because I don't want to make too many seperate threads. I just realized that Shane still had beer rated as one of his loved gifts, even after he's stated to no longer drink beer. All alcoholic drinks should be moved to hated, and a new text saying "I'm on the wagon now" or "don't tempt me". Shane's storyline is the heaviest of all of them and his decision to stop being an alcoholic should be taken seriously by the game mechanics.

I like that, but the thing is that Abigail generally shows negative opinions towards her family, and this wouldn’t really fit into her personality.

Yeah abigail's not exactly an over-the-counter kinda person. Besides, everyone knows she'd set up her SNES somewhere in the shop and be playing that all day behind the counter instead of paying attention to customers.

I love it! Community Center restoration should definitely be the only prerequisite. I think it should be that way for the Joja route too: instead of Joja being gone, he'd quit or be laid off because of changes.

i mean, it just says that he stole it from there a while ago, so i just assume he stole it when it still existed lol
