I feel that. First mod I ever downloaded was one that allowed me to adjust the speed of the day – even making it go faster. I usually have it set to 30s irl per 10min in-game – a little over 4x slower than normal. This has allowed for an extremely casual experience, casually strolling around, paying more attention to the little things, etc.
Of course, messing with the game speed often causes amusing villager behaviors.
Slow time causes things like Sebastian going to hang out with Sam but they're standing awkwardly apart from eachother in front of the house until the script tells one of them to take their next position.
Fast time will cause villagers to get stuck in unusual places because they weren't at the appropriate spot for their next script to direct them, which has caused things like Jodi staying overnight in Pierre and Caroline's living room complaining about being all sweaty after working out.
